Youth Mariachi 1 (top photo)
This Mariachi was formed in March 2000. It is comprised of students in middle and high schools. Although the members are young in age, they are not short of talent. They continue to grow musically and exhibit an interpretation of mariachi music that is both refreshing and energetic. They have performed throughout Southern California at private events as well as community events, restaurants, and city celebrations. It has provided a positive outlet for its members. They were finalist in their first competition, the 1st Annual McDonald's Juvenil Mariachi Competition. The group performed at Fiesta Broadway. They have traveled to Guadalajara, Mexico to participate in the 10th Annual Encuentro Internacional de Mariachi. They placed in the top ten of an international mariachi competition and were invited to perform at the historic Teatro Degollado alongside Mariachi Vargas, Mariachi Los Camperos, and Mariachi America.

The group was formed in 2000. The group members range in age from 14 to 19 years-old. They are based in the Los Angeles area and play throughout Los Angeles and Orange counties. They won the McMariachi Competition 2005 which is awarded by McDonald’s to the best youth mariachi group and presented by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. They have performed at UCLA’s Royce Hall, as well as, Bovard Auditorium on the USC campus. They were privileged to have played for the opening ceremonies of the Cathedral of the Angels in Los Angeles, California. They have performed for the past four years at the Los Angeles County Fair, as well as the Orange County Fair. They can be seen frequently playing at the historic Olvera Street in downtown Los Angeles and were featured in the 2005 Fiesta Broadway in Los Angeles, California.
